Beginning Sewing Weekend Workshop

If you have never sewn or don't remember the last time you did, this is the class for you. You will learn how to use your machine, cut fabric, press properly, and sew the most commonly used seams as well as straps, pockets, and hems. Then you will put your new skills to use in a professional-looking project.

Studio Time - Monthly

All sewing levels welcome. Work on any sewing projects you would like in a friendly, relaxed environment. Bring your own machine or use ours. The instructor will be available to answer questions, offer suggestions, and teach new skills as needed.

Intermediate Sewing - Monthly

Future fashion designers, this is the place to start. Structured curriculum introduces a new set of skills each month. Students will then hone their sewing skills and put the new techniques into practice by constructing quality garments using commercial patterns.

Dates: On-going (no class Labor Day weekend)
Time: Sundays 2-4

Fabric Store Tour - One Day

This class is designed to help you navigate your way around a fabric store with confidence and knowledge. You will learn about the different types of fabrics, examples of their uses, how to calculate measurements, how to read a pattern book to assist in choosing the correct pattern, size and yardage needed for the garment. We will explore the notions; thread, zippers, how and when to use them and for what purpose. We will spend 2 hours in the store, then have lunch and discuss and ask questions, then return to the store to complete any questions that were discussed during the working lunch.
